Ángel Arranz lecturer at Rafael Orozco String Department

During the last two days, I was lecturing at the String Department of the Rafael Orozco Conservatory. Under the topic Workshop on analysis and introduction to cadence composition, I was teaching to compose a cadenza by studying different tools and technical keys. We analyzed a wide number of cadence, comparing also distinct versions of the same cadence and we reflected upon the contrastive/complementary idea of structure versus form. Bach’s Chaconne of the Partita for solo violin nº 2 in D minor BWV 1004 was a pretty rich starting point to evaluate a bunch of purely technical resources at the service of a solid idea.

Many thanks to the professor Luis Rubén Gallardo for the invitation; it has been two-days of excitement and creativity, which everybody enjoyed!
