Mostra Sonora 2014
Fully consolidated as one of the most important festivals of electronic music, sound art and emerging artistic creation through new technologies, the Mostra Sonora de Sueca celebrates its tenth aniversary in 2014. For this occasion, The DK <projection> has prepared a very special program comprising five activities.
Attending to emerging musical cultures, an exotic taste for the sound and an innovative use of space, Toranj, a program of new electronic pieces by Iranian men and women composers, will be presented on Thursday 8th May.
On Friday 9th May, the DK <projection> will give a masterclass on music and space, discussing in a theorical and practical way a part of the results of the investigations on this subject. The performance callingHiggs will follow in the afternoon. CallingHiggs is an acousmatic incorporating the flashmob format in order to involve the audience in a performance by using cell phones, surround sound and visual projections.
On the evening of Saturday 10th May Josetxo Silguero (bass saxophone) & The DK <projection> (electronics and video projection) will perform a selection of the DK <qumran> series, focusing in the relationship between architecture and music.
Sunday 11th May closes the program with an exceptional concert of acousmatic music conformed by historical and recent pieces by authors of the Institute of Sonology The Hague, one of the pioneering institutions in the world in the field of electronic music.
